The Double Whammy: Why Age 40 Marks a Turning Point for Hypertension and Diabetes A recent study published in the journal Diabetes & Metabolic Syndrome has raised concerns about the rising prevalence of hypertension and diabetes among adults over 40.
Conducted by Max Healthcare, the research analyzed electronic health records from more than 56,000 individuals who underwent preventive health check ups across six hospitals in Delhi NCR between 2021 and 2024.
The findings are striking: nearly 5% of adults in this age group suffer from both conditions simultaneously, a rate that is significantly higher than what would be expected if the two diseases occurred independently.
